Skill Level Descriptions
LEVEL I –Designed for the youth who has little to no volleyball experience
Offering a unique setting in an interactive team-building environment, this level introduces the fundamental skills of volleyball including passing, setting, serving, court structure and rotation. GOALS: Upon completion, players have an understanding of the rules, scoring, basic rotation, and the ability to pass and serve (at least) underhand with some consistency and accuracy. Promoting the confidence in every athlete in a fun and friendly environment, players learn and develop individual and collective skills of play.
LEVEL II – Designed for the youth with some volleyball experience – she is familiar with, has experience in, and performs with some consistency, the fundamental skills outlined in Beginner Level I
This level's focus is on refining and advancing the basic fundamentals (passing, setting, serving), and introduces more advanced skills - hitting/spiking, blocking & digging, position play, and game strategies. GOALS: Upon completion, players pass, set and serve with a fair amount of consistency and accuracy, have an understanding of positional responsibilities and play, and are progressing toward the three ball touch play. Promoting the confidence in every athlete in a fun and friendly environment, players learn and develop individual and collective skills of play.
LEVEL III – Designed for the youth who can consistently and accurately execute the fundamentals of passing, setting and serving, understands positional and three ball touch play, and can hit/spike, dig and block with some consistency.
This level’s focus is on improving the more advanced skills introduced in Level II - hitting/spiking, digging and blocking skills, concentrating on proper arm swing and footwork formations. GOALS: Upon completion, girls are able to serve overhand, are fairly consistent and accurate in the more advanced skills, know how to flow in and out of various court rotations. Promoting the confidence in every athlete in a fun and friendly environment, players learn and develop individual and collective skills of play.
LEVEL IV – Designed for the youth who can consistently and accurately execute all fundamental and advanced skills outlined in Level I through Level III, able to serve overhand, is acutely aware of positional play responsibilities and successfully contributes to the three ball touch play. Promoting the confidence in every athlete in a fun and friendly environment, players learn and develop individual and collective skills of play.
LEVEL V – Designed for the youth who is committed to the sport and wants to advance her skills in a more serious, competitive and fast-paced environment.
